In the drawing series what is left I am exploring the possibility of having only a trace of a drawing, we can call it a drawing’s DNA. The starting points of the process are drawings that I then punch holes from right to left. Keeping the cut parts in line order, I join them with a thread, and, within this transformation they hold the remains of what they were. The light series examine a monochromatic surface on perpetual state of change. . I explore the idea of physical and hidden traces on paper or canvas. The surface relief, texture and medium create effects of light and shadow in a constant variation depending on its exposure and environment. The work offers a way to reflect on transience, permanence and possibilities. |
